Cookies
Why do all websites have that warning about “cookies”? Are they dangerous? Are they spying on us?
Well, “cookies” are small files that contain certain data about the web user. When browsing a website, these files are sent via the browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Web servers use them to store and retrieve information about their visitors and to ensure the proper functioning of the website.
With these small cookies, the web server can remember certain information about the user, such as their preferences for viewing pages on that server, username and password, products of greatest interest, etc. In short, they allow the website owner to better understand their users in order to improve what is shown to visitors.
Like many websites, we also use cookies to collect information—specifically, Google Analytics cookies. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some parts of the site may not function properly.
